Intergenerational cooperation between Primary School Vič and Elderly Home Vrhnika
At the end of May 2019 two teachers and five students of third class visited Elderly Home Vrhnika, where they played maths games with seniors. Seniors greeted them very warmly and enjoyed playing math games with children. Children noticed seniors are very good at calculating and logic. Seniors and children were very interested in playing and cooperating together. They decided to organise this kind of intergenerational cooperation again.

On May 16, 2019. the 2nd MATHEMATICAL FAMILY TOURNAMENT took place in our school, organized by Mrs. Małgorzata Haraburda and Mrs. Agnieszka Piórecka. A lot of students from grades IV - VI, along with their parents, applied.
We started our afternoon together with the presentation of our 6 students from the March’s visit in Slovenia as part of the ERASMUS + program. They told us about each day of their stay, about what they did at school, about their stay with their Slovenian’s families, about various maths games, about interesting places they visited…. and most of all about their impressions and emotions from that trip.
Then the fun with maths began, in the form of solving mathematical puzzles and problems together with the parents - in the form of the KAHOOT game. Ms Małgorzata Haraburda prepared interesting puzzles that required not only exact, mathematical thinking, but also quick response and answering questions. The rivalry was fierce between families and aroused a lot of emotions.
Another point of our program was a presentation of games invented by students from all partner countries of the project, which were created during the 2 years of the project. Our games aroused great interest among our parents and children, as well as parents and children of the partner school in Slovenia.
At the end of our nice meeting, we awarded the winners with diplomas and small gadgets. We were very pleased to welcome everybody, to have fun together, at the same time, we invited our guests to the 3rd Tournament next school year.

On the 22nd November 2018 our teacher Jerneja Bergant Belaj and a student of Pedagogical Faculty Zala visited the kindergarten Dr. France Prešeren in Ljubljana and presented mathematical games made in our Erasmus project. They were well accepted and the children enjoyed playing the games very much. They were invited to come again with some more games.

On 5.06.2018 the 1st MATHEMATICAL FAMILY TOURNAMENT took place in our school, organized by Ms Małgorzata Haraburda and Ms Agnieszka Piórecka. A lot of students from grades IV - VI, along with their parents, applied.
We started our afternoon together with the presentation of our 4 students from the April’s visit in Portugal as part of the ERASMUS + program. They told about each day of their stay, about what they did in Portuguese school, about various math games, about interesting places they visited…. and most of all about their impressions and emotions from that trip.
Then the fun with mathematics began, in the form of solving mathematical puzzles, students, together with their parents. Ms Małgorzata Haraburda prepared interesting competitions that required not only exact mathematical thinking, but also manual skills. The rivalry was fierce between the families, because the reward was the receiving of a serious currency J - ERASMUSKI.
Another point of our programme was a presentation of games invented by our students, which were presented during their stay in Portugal. Our games aroused great interest among our parents and children, as well as parents and children of the partner’s school in Portugal.
At the end of our nice meeting, we handed out participation diplomas and small gadgets. Of course, a group photo could not be missing. It was a great pleasure for us to host families with children for fun, and at the same time, we invite you for the 2nd Tournament next school year.

As for the long tradition of Erasmus exchanges, it continues with a new project coordinated by Mrs ZEIGER, from 2017 till 2020, on the theme of the " math through games", with Belgian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Slovenian partners.
As English is mainly used to communicate, the coordinator is going to propose an initiation to this language during the time of the complementary educational activities (APC), every Tuesday from 4:00 pm till 5:15 pm.
